Spirit Airlines is enhancing its connectivity to the Southeast this summer with new flights to and from Chattanooga, Tennessee and Columbia, South Carolina.

On Wednesday, the ultra-low-cost carrier announced it will offer the only nonstop flights between Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport (CHA) and Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Orlando International Airport (MCO) beginning June 4-5, 2025.

Spirit will also connect Columbia Metropolitan Airport (CAE) with nonstop service to Fort Lauderdale (FLL) and the only nonstop flights to Newark (EWR) and Orlando (MCO) starting June 5-6, 2025.

All of the new flights will operate three or four times weekly, giving travelers more options just in time for the busy summer travel period.

"We're excited to kick off our Columbia service just in time for summer and deliver a great value to visit some of the most popular leisure destinations along the East Coast," John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, said in a statement.

"Chattanooga is known as the Scenic City for good reason, and travelers from major East Coast cities can discover a new destination with southern charm, breathtaking views and endless outdoor activities," Kirby added.

Spirit is celebrating the new routes with introductory fares starting at $50 one-way for travel from June 5 through August 12, 2025, that's purchased through March 20, 2025.

The new route announcement comes at a tumultuous time for Spirit, which recently received court approval for a $795 million funded debt equitizing plan to alleviate its Chapter 11 bankruptcy in the wake of multiple failed merger bids from the likes of JetBlue and Frontier Airlines.
