1 month ago 41

The Gadsden City Council has approved a revised fee schedule for the Noccalula Falls Park campground, aligning rates with comparable facilities in the region. The updated pricing will take effect when the renovated campground reopens on March 17.

Under the new structure, standard campsites will cost $65 per night, while premium pull-through sites will be $75.

Guests will also be subject to a 12% lodging tax, nightly surcharges of $1.50 and $5, and a non-refundable $10 reservation fee. Rates include up to four occupants per site, with an additional $5 per night charge for each extra person.

The revised policy includes discounts for military personnel, senior citizens, and members of AARP and Good Sam, who will receive a 10% reduction in fees.

A two-night minimum stay is required on weekends, and a three-night minimum is mandated for holiday periods. Stays are capped at 28 consecutive days.

Cabin rentals at the campground will also be priced at $150 per night, with an added $125 cleaning fee. These accommodations are also subject to lodging taxes and surcharges and require a minimum two-night rental.

According to an article published by The Gadsden Times, the changes coincide with the near completion of an $11 million renovation project that began in January 2024. The upgrades include an expanded and realigned internal roadway network featuring decorative lighting, as well as the installation of new utility services throughout the campground.

Campground improvements also extend to enhanced RV parking spaces, upgraded bathhouses, and the addition of a new zero-entry swimming pool with an adjacent pavilion. The existing administrative office has been repurposed into a rentable cabin, while a newly constructed office will serve as the park’s operational hub.

Parking enhancements are also part of the project, with reconstruction and resurfacing efforts focused on the lower parking lot between Noccalula Road and the campground entrance.

The renovated campground is expected to provide an upgraded stay for guests while ensuring long-term sustainability through updated pricing and amenities.
