The Palace in Madrid is now a part of Marriott’s Luxury Collection portfolio following a two-year restoration and renovation.
The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, formerly known as The Westin Palace, Madrid, is located in the city’s Barrio de las Letras neighborhood, near the Prado and Thyssen Bornemisza Museums and Plaza Mayor, within the UNESCO-designated Paisaje de la Luz.

The hotel, dating back to 1912, is now restored to its former glory, including the hotel’s stained glass and iron dome that was designed by Eduardo Ferrés i Puig and executed by master glaziers Maumejean.
The Palace Hotel’s interiors blend modern and historic elegance, paying homage to the many historical figures who once stayed there, including Pablo Picasso and Ernest Hemingway. It offers 470 rooms and suites with hand-painted wallpapers, La Cúpula, the restaurant located directly underneath the dome, and the 27 Club.
“The debut of The Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Madrid, represents a significant addition to our global portfolio in one of Europe’s most culturally rich cities,” said Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection. “Situated in the heart of Madrid, this hotel invites our global guests to fully immerse themselves in the city’s distinguished artistic heritage and vibrant spirit. With its thoughtful blend of historical allure and modern luxury, this hotel is poised to offer a one-of-a-kind gateway to explore the city’s most iconic cultural treasures and its lively, creative energy.”
