Kids Can Fly (Almost) Free From the US to Tahiti

Families looking to book a dream vacation on an affordable budget are getting a huge boost this year from Air Tahiti Nui.

The Papeete-based airline’s latest deal lets kids fly for practically free along with their parents from select United States airports to the tropical paradise of Tahiti

With the new family-friendly discount, parents who book two round-trip tickets from Seattle or Los Angeles to Faa'a International Airport (PPT) in Papeete, Tahiti, will only have to pay the taxes on their children’s ticket. The offer is valid for up to two children who are 11 years old or younger.

Parents can book the heavily discounted fares for travel through the end of 2025. Although not as affordable as the child fares, round-trip tickets for adults on Air Tahiti Nui are still relatively inexpensive.

Fares start at $1,280 per passenger for travel from January 7 to May 31 and November 1 to December 13. For the peak summer travel period, prices jump slightly, starting at $1480 per passenger for trips between June 1 and October 31, as well as for the winter holidays from December 14 to January 6.

As Air Tahiti Nui is a full-service carrier, those fares include all onboard perks, like in-flight meals and drinks, pillows and blankets, amenity kits, and one checked bag. Parents are also allowed to check one folding stroller per child ages 0-23 months at no extra charge.

In addition to flying to Papeete, Air Tahiti Nui also flies from Los Angeles and Seattle to Paris. From Paeete, the South Pacific carrier operates flights to Tokyo and Auckland, New Zealand.
