Zion Announces 2025 Shuttle Service Dates, New Schedule Details

1 month ago 4

Zion National Park will restart its seasonal shuttle service on March 2, with a structured schedule in place for spring, summer, and fall.

The National Park Service (NPS) adjusts shuttle operations each year to accommodate visitor demand while managing traffic and environmental impact within the park.

The 2025 shuttle schedule includes three operating periods. From March 2 to May 17, the first bus from the Zion Canyon Visitor Center departs at 7 a.m.

Between May 18 and September 14, service begins at 6 a.m., and the last departure moves to 7 p.m.

From September 15 to November 1, the start time returns to 7 a.m., with the final trip at 5 p.m. The last return bus from Temple of Sinawava is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. in both the spring and fall, extending to 8:15 p.m. in the summer.

According to a press release, Springdale Line shuttles will continue using flag service, meaning stops in the town occur only when requested by riders.

The first bus from Springdale Stop #9 departs at 8 a.m. in the spring and fall, shifting to 7 a.m. during the peak summer season. The last shuttle from Zion Canyon Village to Springdale leaves at 7 p.m. in the spring and fall, and 8 p.m. in summer.

Visitors should note that the Zion Canyon Scenic Drive remains closed to personal vehicles while the shuttle system is in operation.

Limited parking is available within the park, and guests are encouraged to use the free Springdale Line shuttle to access the entrance.

The NPS will provide additional updates later this year regarding shuttle operations in November and the holiday period between Christmas and New Year’s. While shuttle rides do not require permits or reservations, park entry fees still apply.

To ensure a smooth visit, park officials recommend planning ahead and checking for updates at nps.gov/zion. Visitors are advised to bring their park passes, as rangers will request them at entry points.

Parking congestion is common throughout the year, with lots often filling early in the morning. Officials suggest arriving early or after 3 p.m. to avoid peak crowds. Weekdays generally see fewer visitors than weekends.
