Cameron Ranch Glamping Launches ÖÖD Mirror Houses at Lake Bastrop’s South Shore Park

Cameron Ranch Glamping has expanded its footprint in the Texas outdoor hospitality sector with the introduction of two ÖÖD Mirror Houses at South Shore Park near Lake Bastrop.

This new offering comes as part of a collaboration with the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA), aligning with efforts to promote sustainable outdoor recreation while meeting growing demand for upscale camping experiences.

The ÖÖD Mirror Houses, which are now open for bookings for the summer season, are designed to reflect the surrounding natural environment using mirrored glass exteriors.

Inside, the units are equipped with a queen-size memory foam bed, kitchenette, private deck, and other comforts aimed at providing a nature-immersive yet comfortable stay.

Amenities also include a mini fridge, water kettle, coffee setup, and outdoor games, catering to guests looking for a peaceful retreat.

Cameron Ranch Glamping’s founder and operator, Garrett Brown, has continued to build on his reputation for creating high-end, unique outdoor accommodations.

Brown, who previously gained attention for a popular glamping site near Houston, said:

“Lake Bastrop is already an incredible hidden gem for kayaking, boating, fishing, and hiking. Partnering with LCRA allowed us to align our goal of providing thoughtful, responsible nature retreats.”

This development is notable for operators and investors in the outdoor hospitality industry due to its use of architecturally distinctive units and strategic partnership with a public agency.

For businesses in the glamping and RV sector, the Lake Bastrop project demonstrates a viable model for expanding offerings through collaboration with land stewards and utility authorities, while capitalizing on eco-conscious and design-focused traveler trends.

With relatively few ÖÖD Mirror Houses available across the U.S., Cameron Ranch’s deployment of the units represents a niche opportunity to attract guests seeking distinctive accommodations.

“This isn’t your average vacation,” Brown said in a report by KXAN. “It’s about slowing down, stargazing, and reconnecting with the outdoors in a way that’s both peaceful and stylish.”

The Mirror Houses are now accepting reservations, adding a new draw to an area already popular for outdoor recreation in Central Texas.
