Windstar Cruises is introducing an additional solar eclipse cruise for August 2026 after its first eclipse voyage sold out.
The line will give guests an opportunity to see the celestial spectacle while sailing aboard the 148-guest Wind Spirit.
The ship will embark from Rome on August 6, 2026, then head to Bastia and Calvi, Corsica; Alghero, Sardinia; and Mahon, Menorca.
On the day of the total solar eclipse, August 12, the crew will position the ship north of Mallorca, Spain, for a prime viewing opportunity as the path of totality passes over Spain and Portugal for two minutes and 18 seconds.
On deck, guests can participate in an eclipse watch party with provided eclipse glasses. The cruise ends in Barcelona on August 13.
“Eclipse cruises are popular because ships at sea can position for clear views,” says Jess Peterson, director of destination experiences and itinerary planning for Windstar Cruises.
“Our first cruise to coincide with the 2026 eclipse in Iceland sold out quickly," Peterson continued. "We then looked at our deployment plans to see what other ships we had nearby the path of totality and the Wind Spirit made sense.”
