Virgin Voyages is celebrating its best wave season on record.
The company saw its revenue jump by more than 45 percent. Bookings also increased by 34 percent.
“These outstanding results show the incredible momentum our brand has built—driven by our travel advisors who recognize that our kid-free, award-winning experience offers a true premium alternative in the industry,” says Nirmal Saverimuttu, chief executive officer of Virgin Voyages. “They love that our size offers a blend of intimate and elevated experiences and real variety.”
Now in its fourth year, the company says some sailings have up to 60 percent repeat guests.
“Our record repeat rates are loved by (travel advisors) because another booking is almost guaranteed after their client’s first sailing,” says Saverimuttu.
Virgin is also reporting a more than 50 percent increase in bookings for new longer itineraries that range from 8 to 14 nights. Web traffic has also grown by up to 25 percent.
“This is just the beginning of what we know will be our best year yet,” Saverimuttu adds. “We're not just changing how people see and experience cruising—we're redefining what a vacation at sea can be.”
