Spirit Airlines has announced the addition of more than a dozen new and resuming nonstop flights from Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) to destinations around the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

These additional routes, currently available for booking, bring Spirit’s DTW service to 40 destinations representing the most nonstop routes in the airline’s history.

John Kirby, Vice President of Network Planning at Spirit Airlines, said in a statement, “We’re adding even more popular travel options to our Detroit route map, giving our DTW guests a variety of new destinations to discover across the country and beyond.”

He added, “Savvy Motor City travelers will soon enjoy even more options to enjoy Spirit’s elevated experience at a value unmatched by other carriers.”

Nonstop service from DTW include Austin (AUS), Birmingham (BHM), Charleston (CHS), Hartford (BDL), Louisville (SDF), Kansas City (MCI), Milwaukee (MKE), Norfolk (ORF), Phoenix (PHX), Punta Cana (PUJ), Richmond (RIC), Salt Lake City (SLC), San Diego (SAN), San Juan (SJU) and St. Louis (STL).

Most of the new flights will launch June 12-13, 2025, followed by flights to Kansas City and Norfolk beginning May 8 and nonstops to Charleston starting on May 9.

Earlier in March, Spirit announced nonstop service from DTW to Baltimore (BWI), Charlotte (CLT), Memphis (MEM), Pensacola (PNS), Raleigh-Durham (RDU) and San Antonio (SAT) that will begin in May.

By June, Spirit will operate up to 48 peak-day departures from DTW.
