Southwest Airlines Extends Flight Schedule Into 2026 With New Routes

Southwest Airlines has just announced an extension of its flight schedule beyond the end of the year, now allowing travelers to book flights through January 5, 2026.  The major airline is adding new nonstop routes and increasing service in key cities across the U.S. and beyond. Passengers can now book their holiday season travel or warm-weather trips for the coming winter. 

To help travelers beat the winter chill, Southwest is increasing service to several airports in Florida and California. International destinations are also seeing growth, with year-over-year increases in flights to select locations.

Ramping Up Nashville Service

Additionally, starting next month, the airline will introduce several new routes from Nashville, connecting travelers to Albany, New York; Albuquerque, New Mexico; Jackson Mississippi; Memphis, Tennessee; Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Providence, Rhode Island. While some of these routes are making a return to Southwest’s lineup, others mark fresh additions to its growing network.

Hawaii in the Spotlight

Further expansion includes the launch of redeye flights from Hawaii to the mainland, beginning in April. Travelers flying from Honolulu and Maui will have overnight options to Las Vegas and Phoenix, while flights from Kona will connect directly to Las Vegas. In November, basketball fans heading to the 2025 Southwest Maui Invitational will find daily flights between Maui and Las Vegas, Los Angeles and Oakland. Eight daily connections will also be available between Honolulu and several major West Coast cities:Las Vegas, Long Beach, Los Angeles, Sacramento, San Diego and San Jose.

All newly announced routes and the full flight schedule through January 5, 2026, are now available for booking at Southwest.com. Frequent flyers can maximize their travel benefits by enrolling in the airline’s Rapid Rewards program and earning points on flights and partner purchases to redeem for future travel.
