Part of Marriott Bonvoy’s portfolio of over 30 hotel brands, The Luxury Collection has announced the opening of Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa in the Turks & Caicos, the brand’s first property on the island.
Located on South Caicos Island, the resort sports natural surroundings, world-class watersports, exquisite dining and cultural experiences.
"The Luxury Collection embodies the art of curation, bringing together an exceptional portfolio of unique hotels in some of the world’s most captivating and unexpected destinations,” said Bruce Rohr, Vice President and Global Brand Leader, The Luxury Collection.
He added, “We are thrilled to introduce Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos as the latest addition to our expanding global footprint, offering travelers a gateway to South Caicos — a serene, lesser-explored corner of the Caribbean known for its picturesque beauty and rich maritime heritage. With its nature-inspired design, elevated culinary experiences, and world-class eco-adventures, this resort epitomizes the brand’s destination-first philosophy, where every property reflects the soul of its locale and acts as a portal to authentic cultural discovery."
Shaped by the Elements
The resort’s sophisticated concept is inspired by the island’s famed salt flats and tropical allure. One-hundred guest rooms and suites are crafted with regionally sourced materials. Floor-to-ceiling windows and expansive balconies offer abundant light and breathtaking views.
Wellness In Harmony with Nature
Eight luxurious treatment rooms include two couple suites and world-class treatments. The spa also features a multisensory aqua thermal circuit with a salt sauna, steam room, aloe bar, rejuvenating hammam, an outdoor lounge, hot tub and pool.
Epicurean Journeys
Six distinctive dining experiences showcase the island’s rich culinary heritage. Sisal’s lobby bar offers ever-changing menus, bites and cocktails. Cobo Bar & Grill’s waterfront dining sports Latin-inspired cuisine while signature restaurant, Brine, offers a chef’s tasting and paired wine menu.
Epicurean Moment’s 7-course seasonal menu is inspired by the island’s prized ingredient salt — often referred to as "white gold. Enjoy laidback British Caribbean fusion at Regatta with golden hour views from the second-story terrace, Casual Flamingo Café offers homemade gelato, smoothies and espressos, while Jack & Jenny’s food truck serves a rotating menu of street food.
Eco-Experiences
Due to an expansive stretch of untouched white-sand beaches and the protected Admiral Cockburn Land & Sea National Park, the resort offers a diverse array of adventures from watersports to seasonal whale watching.
Calm, crystalline, calm waters provide optimal conditions for diving and snorkeling. Guided tours explore local wildlife, uninhabited islands and natural salt ponds along with a Salt Discovery Experience.
“Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos is more than just a resort; it’s a destination where elegance and the spirit of South Caicos intertwine said” Brian King, President of Marriott International's Caribbean and Latin America (CALA) region. “We are committed to offering guests a journey that celebrates the island’s natural beauty and cultural heritage while offering the unmatched luxury and service synonymous with The Luxury Collection
Sustainability
Sustainability is a core part of the resort’s philosophy. Abundant sunlight powers its operations along with an industrial composting system. Recognizing water limitations, the resort collects and desalinates seawater for drinking, harvests rainwater for irrigation and only offers filtered water dispensers.
Guests can sponsor a segment of the reef through the Coral Reef Adoption Program, in partnership with the School for Field Studies (SFS), the Turks & Caicos Reef Fund, and the Reef Institute.
“This resort is a destination where luxury and sustainability come together in an extraordinary setting,” said Michael Tibbets, Managing Director of Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, Turks & Caicos. “South Caicos, with its untouched beaches and rich cultural heritage, offers a rare opportunity to reconnect with nature while indulging in the finest experiences the Caribbean has to offer.”
