A power outage spurred headaches for travelers at Maryland's Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport on Monday morning.

The airport confirmed an outage impacting areas of its main terminal and parking garage shortly after 8:30 a.m. ET and said that multiple arriving flights were being diverted as a result.

Officials encouraged travelers to check their flight status with their airline.

In its most recent update, the airport said that power is slowly being restored and that screening operations have resumed at Security Checkpoint D/E.

"Some airlines are using air stairs to deplane passengers."

According to flight-tracking website FlightAware.com, BWI was reporting more than 150 flight delays and 10 cancellations as of 10:45 a.m. ET.
