Marriott Celebrates Record Development in Europe, Middle East and Africa in 2024

Marriott International, Inc. signed a record number of properties in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region, adding over 180 properties and signing 291 more in 2024. 

The region expanded to include Marriott properties in Luxembourg, Angola and Senegal for the first time. Its total pipeline for the region is 596 properties at year-end, representing 104,731 rooms, a 10 percent increase from 2023. 

“We celebrated exceptional growth across the EMEA region in 2024 with a record-breaking number of deal signings, growth across all segments and entry into emerging markets – further enhancing our portfolio and bringing even more unique travel experiences to the region,” said Satya Anand, President, Europe Middle East & Africa, Marriott International. “We remain focused on connecting people through the power of travel and look forward to building on this growth momentum to offer our owners, Marriott Bonvoy members and customers even greater options to extend their horizons.”

Marriott’s luxury brands saw 26 new deals, while its midscale brand, Four Points Flex by Sheraton, grew to 34 signings across Europe. The Autograph Collection, Tribute Portfolio and Marriott Hotels signed 50 hotels.

Marriott also added 181 properties to its regional portfolio, including the opening of Nujuma, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve; W Prague; Koenigsof, a Luxury Collection Hotel in Munich; Fairfield by Marriott Copenhagen Nordhavn and more. 

Marriott expanded into Angola and Senegal with the Protea Hotel Luanda and Courtyard Dakar Diamniadio. Moxy Luxembourg Airport's opening marked the country's first Marriott hotel.
