KOA Expands in Texas: Houston/Med Center KOA Holiday Joins Network

Kampgrounds of America (KOA) announced the addition of the Houston/Med Center KOA Holiday to its network of campgrounds. 

Located near the Texas Medical Center, NRG Stadium, and downtown Houston, the campground offers travelers convenient access to key city attractions. Formerly known as Jetstream RV Resort at Med Center, the property is transitioning to meet KOA’s brand standards, ensuring an enhanced guest experience.

The campground is owned and developed by CityStreet Residential and managed by Blue Water Hospitality Management. With extensive experience in the outdoor hospitality industry, Blue Water now manages seven KOA locations. The company specializes in developing and operating RV resorts, campgrounds, hotels, and attractions.

“The conversion to KOA allows us to leverage KOA’s established brand reputation in the outdoor hospitality industry and encourage travel to our campground,” said Kathryn Harris, vice president of development at CityStreet Residential. 

“KOA’s trusted name in outdoor hospitality ensures well-maintained facilities, exceptional service, and top-tier amenities, providing comfort and reliability for both seasoned RVers and new campers,” Harris noted in a press release.

KOA’s annual Camping and Outdoor Hospitality Report highlights the economic impact of campgrounds, with the average camper spending $156 daily. Nearly 30% of campers express interest in visiting small towns, while another 30% are drawn to food tourism/

KOA Holiday properties serve as base camps for regional exploration while offering an array of on-site amenities. Guests can choose from full-service RV sites with KOA Patio options and Deluxe Cabins equipped with private bathrooms.

The Houston Med Center KOA Holiday features a heated pool, business center, fitness facilities, and an outdoor beer garden with grills and yard games. 

Guests can also enjoy a playground, putting green, stocked fishing pond, and free high-speed internet. RV sites have been upgraded with picnic tables, chimineas, and Adirondack chairs as part of the transition.

Located at 2919 W. Orem Drive, the campground is open year-round.
