Young adult tour operator Contiki has added three new trips to Indonesia following the popularity of its Philippines trip and amid a growing desire for trips to Asia.
Out of the destinations that Contiki doesn't travel to, Bali is the most searched for. Asia bookings have also increased almost 20 percent from last year.
The new trips encourage travelers aged 18-35 to explore all Indonesia offers, with incredible natural scenery, cultural wonders and culinary heritage.
The 8-day Bali Island Hopping trip focuses on Bali's capital, Ubud, where travelers will meet locals and learn traditional cooking and farming techniques. They'll also have opportunities to go white-water rafting, snorkel in the Gili Islands, and learn how to dive.
A shorter 6-day Komodo & Flores Sail itinerary is an island-hopping tour that begins in Labuan Bajo before a 2-night houseboat stay. Travelers can hike Komodo Island, visit Pink Beach, snorkel, swim with manta rays and visit Kalong Island, the home of thousands of bats.
The 13-day Indonesia Island Hopping trip combines both of the above tours.
"We know our travelers have been waiting for us to introduce trips to Indonesia, specifically Bali. I would even go on to call them 'Myth-busting' trips, because they'll show you a side of Bali that's beyond just the buzzing nightlife, with plenty of cultural and adventure activities. Our travelers are going to experience a whole new way of island hopping in Indonesia," Taryn Welsh - Director of Operations for Contiki – Asia & Australia. "We're seeing a trend that young travelers are seeking trips that have more sober, cultural and adventure experiences. We really wanted to ensure that this demand is being catered to on our new Indonesia island hopping trips,"
Contiki has launched over 50 new trips in the past 18 months, including new run club tours in Europe and trips to Vietnam and the wider Southeast Asia region.
