Know a high school student who’s looking for a fun summer job? Carnival Cruise Line is hiring in five American port cities.
Through its new “Carnival Fun-ternship Program,” the cruise line will offer six weeks of paid, hands-on experience at Carnival cruise terminals for job-seekers who are at least 17 years old. Jobs are available in Tampa, Jacksonville, Norfolk, New York City and Long Beach.
High school students will work with Carnival’s port services team members, getting a behind-the-scenes look at Carnival’s terminal operations. They’ll be paid an hourly wage and get to take advantage of special experiences like ship tours and lunch-and-learn professional development sessions.
“This will be more than just a unique, fun summer job,” says David Candib, vice president of port operations for Carnival Cruise Line. “It will be an opportunity for young people to develop professional skills, build confidence and leadership abilities and gain experience in a part of the travel industry that directly impacts their community’s economy.”
Applications are now available, and interested students are encouraged to apply by May 1. A limited number of positions will be available.
The program is scheduled for June 21 to August 2.
“We believe this is another great way to invest in the communities we call home, as well as the future of our dynamic and growing cruise industry,” says Candib.
