Campers Inn RV has expanded its footprint into Texas through a strategic partnership with Crestview RV, a move that underscores its commitment to fostering dealership ownership among industry professionals.
The acquisition includes Crestview RV’s locations in Austin, Georgetown, Waco, and San Antonio, further strengthening Campers Inn’s presence in a competitive market.
As part of the agreement, Mike Regan has been named president of Crestview RV at all Texas locations. Regan’s appointment aligns with Campers Inn’s approach to leadership continuity, which focuses on retaining experienced management while providing pathways to ownership.
Crestview RV, originally founded by Scott Lougheed, carries a legacy that dates back to the 1960s when Don Lougheed, an early industry pioneer, established his first dealership and helped found the RV Dealers Association (RVDA).
“This partnership is about more than just growth—it’s about recognizing and empowering great leaders like Mike,” said Jeff Hirsch, CEO of Campers Inn RV, in a news release.
“At Campers Inn, we believe in forging partnerships that retain exceptional management talent while creating a clear succession plan for the future.”
Campers Inn’s expansion strategy contrasts with the consolidation trend driven by publicly traded and private equity-backed companies such as Blue Compass, Camping World, and Lazy Days.
Rather than leveraging capital markets, Campers Inn prioritizes traditional financing and long-term partnerships to support dealership operators who may not have the financial resources to acquire a business independently.
For industry professionals, this model offers an alternative to corporate acquisitions, enabling experienced operators to transition into ownership without losing operational autonomy.
As consolidation reshapes the dealership landscape, businesses seeking to maintain independence may find similar partnerships an appealing path forward.
“I am truly proud to be associated with Jeff and Ben Hirsch,” said Mike Regan. “Their values align closely with those of Crestview RV and myself, making this partnership a perfect fit. I’m excited to see where this collaboration will take us.”
Campers Inn has signaled its intent to continue expanding in Texas, with an eye on additional acquisitions that support aspiring dealership owners.
As more industry veterans seek succession planning solutions, this approach may offer a viable alternative for those looking to preserve their businesses while securing leadership for the next generation.
