American Airlines is adding new routes to Cancun and Punta Cana this winter and expanding service to warm-weather destinations like Hawaii.
American Airlines will be the first to offer international service between Oklahoma City (OKC) and Cancun (CUN) starting November 8 once per week.
It’s also adding four new routes to Punta Cana (PUJ) starting on December 6: the four new routes fly between Punta Cana and Indianapolis (IND), Nashville (BNA), Pittsburgh (PIT) and Raleigh-Durham (RDU). They are all Saturday-only services.
Additionally, the airline will resume its route between Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) and Kona (KOA), along with more flights to Kahului beginning ahead of Thanksgiving. It’ll also offer winter service between Chicago (ORD) and Honolulu (HNL).
Those heading to Buenos Aires (EZE) can enjoy four daily flights this winter from Miami (MIA). American Airlines is also expanding its service between DFW and Sao Paulo (GRU), with up to 10 weekly flights.
Additionally, those heading to Europe in the fall and winter can enjoy extended seasonal summer service on select routes to Athens, Barcelona and Dublin.
“American’s comprehensive global network is designed to give customers more access to the destinations they want to visit,” said Brian Znotins, American’s Senior Vice President of Network Planning. “Together with new routes, more flights on popular routes and extended seasons to major destinations, American’s schedule is designed for travelers to get away to sun, sand and more next winter.”
