Alaska Airlines Revamps Loyalty Program

1 week ago 5

Alaska Airlines is transforming its Mileage Plan loyalty program, rolling out milestone-based rewards and fresh travel perks, including enhanced benefits tied to its partnership with Hawaiian Airlines. The revamped program prioritizes personalization, giving travelers more options to tailor their experience based on their preferences.

Milestone Rewards Start at 10,000 Miles

Alaska Airlines now allows Mileage Plan members to begin earning personalized rewards starting at just 10,000 elite-qualifying miles. At each milestone, travelers can select from a variety of benefits, such as bonus miles, complimentary WiFi, in-flight meals or single-use lounge passes.

Elite status members still receive standard elite perks, including priority check-in and boarding, free checked bags, complimentary preferred seating, and access to First and Premium Class upgrades when available. Other elite privileges include Oneworld alliance status, expedited security at select airports, and special accommodations for new parents through the Elite Leave program.

New Checked Bag Benefit for Credit Cardholders

As of today, Alaska Airlines Visa Signature and Alaska Airlines Visa Business cardholders can check one bag free for themselves and up to six travel companions on Hawaiian Airlines-operated flights, provided they book with their card. Likewise, Hawaiian Airlines World Elite Mastercard primary cardholders will receive two complimentary checked bags on Alaska-operated flights.

Extra Comfort benefits for MVP Gold 75K and MVP Gold 100K

Beginning April 24, Mileage Plan members with MVP Gold 75K or 100K status will enjoy complimentary access to Hawaiian Airlines’ Extra Comfort seats when booking a Main Cabin fare. These seats offer more legroom, priority boarding and upgraded amenities designed to elevate the travel experience.

Companion Fare Will Be Valid on Hawaiian Airlines Flights

Beginning this summer, travelers will be able to redeem their Alaska Airlines Visa Signature or Visa Business companion fare on any Alaska Airlines or Hawaiian Airlines flight operating within North America when booking through Alaska’s official website. Further details on this expanded benefit will be announced in the coming months.

These latest updates are part of a broader effort to unify Alaska Airlines’ Mileage Plan with Hawaiian Airlines’ HawaiianMiles program. Earlier announcements included reciprocal mileage earning and redemption, status matching and shared elite perks. A single, integrated loyalty program is expected to launch this summer, aiming to create a seamless experience for travelers across both programs. Further benefits and enhancements are set to continue rolling out within the coming weeks and months.
