Daytona 500 Infield RV Camping: Infield vs. Exterior Guide
Planning a Daytona 500 trip and deciding where to stay? The right RV setup depends on your camping pass, your group, your tolerance for race-weekend noise, and the rules attached to the exact lot or property you select.

Event snapshot
Start with the site, not just the race.
The 2027 Daytona 500 is currently scheduled for Sunday, February 21, 2027, at Daytona International Speedway. The schedule, camping inventory, arrival windows and site rules can change, so confirm the latest information with the official Speedway before making travel commitments.

The no-towing option
Plan the arrival before you plan the RV.
One of the advantages of a delivered RV is that you may be able to arrive in a regular vehicle and walk into a prepared space instead of towing a large rig through unfamiliar traffic. That only works when the selected location allows delivery and the access plan has been confirmed in advance.
We can then review whether a motorhome or travel trailer arrangement is practical for the requested location. The final plan is subject to availability, delivery distance, site access, property approval and the rules that apply to your reservation.
RV Rentals Loma del Sol can review delivery and setup options for an approved, serviceable location. Delivery inside the venue is not implied and must be confirmed for the exact site, access instructions, timing, equipment and availability.
Arrive without towing
You may be able to arrive in a regular vehicle and walk into a prepared space when delivery is approved.
Keep a stable base
Use a prepared RV as a place to sleep, eat, change and recover between race activities.
Plan around the exact site
Match the RV to the pass, site dimensions, access conditions, utility details and property rules.
Bring the right layout
Review whether a motorhome or travel trailer arrangement is practical for your requested location.
Review feasibility
The final plan depends on availability, delivery distance, site access, approval and reservation rules.
Keep rules in charge
A provider's standard equipment list does not override the current event or property rules.
Choose your base
Infield vs. exterior camping
Infield camping places you inside the Speedway property and closer to the race-weekend atmosphere. An exterior option may mean a different Speedway campground, a nearby campground or another approved property outside the infield. These are not interchangeable.
| Planning factor | Infield camping | Exterior camping or nearby property |
|---|---|---|
| Atmosphere | The most immersive race-weekend experience, with activity and noise close to the track. | A potentially more flexible base, depending on the campground or property selected. |
| Access | Requires the correct event admission and camping credentials, plus compliance with the designated entrance and arrival process. | Follows the rules of the selected campground, property or lot; do not assume Speedway access is included. |
| RV requirements | Official Speedway camping information identifies designated areas for self-contained RVs and lists site-specific vehicle requirements. | Requirements vary by property. Confirm RV length, width, height, leveling space and vehicle access before booking. |
| Utilities | Do not assume full hookups. The exact camping section determines what is available and what services are permitted. | Hookups, dump access and generator rules depend on the selected property or campground. |
| Pets | Current Speedway camping guidance lists leashed pets, cleanup and staying within the site; event-specific rules should be rechecked. | Follow the selected property's pet policy and any restrictions tied to race-weekend operations. |
| Delivery and setup | Venue delivery or parking is not automatic. It must be confirmed for the exact lot, pass, access window and service conditions. | Delivery may be easier to coordinate when the property accepts outside RV service, but written confirmation is still required. |
There is no universal “best” lot. Choose the experience first, then confirm whether the location can support the RV type and arrival plan you need.
Use the official Daytona camping information to confirm the exact camping section, requirements and current availability.
Race-weekend checklist
Five Daytona camping details to verify before you book
Race-weekend logistics become easier when the exact pass, lot and access plan are clear before you request the RV.
Your pass and the exact camping section
An event ticket and a camping credential are not automatically the same thing. Confirm the name of the camping section, the entry requirements, the arrival date and whether the pass is for a self-contained RV space. Keep the official confirmation available when coordinating delivery or arrival.
Site dimensions and wheel placement
Camping sections can have specific space and vehicle requirements. For example, the current official Yellow RV listing describes a 20-by-40-foot site and states that all wheels must be on pavement for that section. Treat that as a section-specific example, not a rule for every Daytona camping area. Measure the full RV footprint, including slide-outs, awnings, steps and any vehicle that must remain with the site.
Power, water, sewer and generator rules
Do not assume that an infield or exterior site includes full hookups. Ask what is available at the exact space and how wastewater, propane, refueling and pump-out services are handled. If a generator is allowed, confirm operating hours, exhaust placement, noise limits and fuel requirements with the current event or property rules. A provider's standard equipment list does not override site rules.
Quiet hours and guest conduct
Race weekends are energetic, but camping policies still apply. The Speedway's current general camping guidance lists quiet hours from midnight to 6:00 a.m. and prohibits practices such as wastewater dumping and ground fires. Recheck the event-specific arrival guide before you travel because policies can be revised.
Pet and family logistics
The current Speedway camping guidance lists leashed pets, cleanup and staying within the site. Confirm the policy for your exact event and campground before bringing a dog. Plan shade, climate control, walks, noise exposure and a safe way to leave or supervise your pet; never treat a general pet-friendly statement as permission for every lot or activity.

If the selected location approves delivery, a prepared RV can give your group a stable place to sleep, eat, change and recover between race activities. It can also reduce the number of arrival tasks you need to handle on site.
