Wayside Holiday Park has opened for the 2025 season with a positive outlook, as its owner anticipates a strong year despite ongoing economic challenges.
Located near Pickering in the North York Moors, the park is positioning itself for success through strategic offerings and an emphasis on its natural surroundings.
Mark Goodson, owner and managing director of Wayside, expressed confidence in the sector’s resilience, citing economic indicators that suggest a stable outlook.
“I am cautiously optimistic. While I know these are challenging times, I believe there are enough social and economic indicators to suggest that well-run holiday parks, with excellent facilities in attractive locations, will not just survive this year, but also prosper,” Goodson said in a report by The Yorkshire Post.
He pointed to the stabilization of interest rates and inflation as key factors that could support recovery in the industry.
With both metrics forecasted to decline throughout the year, he believes the conditions are in place for confidence to grow among park operators and guests alike.
“If this trend continues, then confidence in the holiday park sector will return and strengthen,” he added.
To enhance its appeal, Wayside recently introduced The Water Gardens, a 13-pitch development designed to expand its capacity and improve guest experience.
The park’s location near Yorkshire’s coastline, historic towns, and scenic walking trails continues to be a major draw for visitors, reinforcing its value proposition in an evolving market.
For holiday park operators, the focus on high-quality amenities and strong regional attractions remains crucial as consumer confidence fluctuates.
While economic pressures persist, strategic investments in infrastructure and guest experience may help businesses maintain competitiveness.
Wayside’s approach underscores a broader industry trend where parks that adapt to shifting consumer expectations stand to benefit the most in 2025.
