One of the UK’s largest family holiday parks, Unity Beach in Brean, Somerset, is unveiling a series of upgrades this summer following a £15 million investment.
Under new ownership since late 2024, the 240-acre park has undergone significant enhancements, including the addition of new entertainment venues, dining options, and refreshed attractions, aiming to elevate the guest experience.
The investment has introduced a new entertainment venue, a revamped sports bar, and an all-day pub, alongside improvements to existing facilities such as the Splash Waterpark and Brean Play.
Former Butlin’s managing director Dermot King and Mark Seaton, previously the managing director of Cove UK, are leading the transformation, according to a report by National World.
The two industry veterans have set their sights on building a portfolio of family parks that focus on traditional British seaside holidays.
“The vision for Unity Beach is to offer families a high-quality, fun-filled holiday experience with a strong focus on entertainment, dining, and leisure,” King stated.
The Wonky Donkey pub, now open from breakfast through late evening, features a menu of family favorites alongside a variety of beverages.
The new Sports Café combines classic activities such as pool, shuffleboard, and darts with virtual reality gaming, catering to a diverse guest demographic. Live sports screenings are also part of the venue’s offerings.
Entertainment has been a key focus of the redevelopment. The Pavilion Theatre now hosts full days of activities, ranging from interactive workshops and themed performances to live music and tribute acts.
“We want to ensure that families have something engaging to enjoy from morning to night,” Seaton explained. Evening entertainment options include the Rising Stars Talent Show, live bands, and classic pantomime performances.
Beyond entertainment, the park continues to enhance its outdoor and recreational amenities. Guests can access Brean Splash Waterpark daily, which features a six-lane pool, water slides, and a seasonal outdoor section.
The adjacent Brean Play indoor soft play center remains a popular attraction for younger visitors.
Golfers can take advantage of discounted access to the nearby Brean Golf Club, and additional discounts are available for Brean Theme Park. A fishing lake and easy access to seven miles of beach further add to the park’s appeal.
The investment at Unity Beach aligns with a broader industry trend of enhancing holiday parks with upgraded attractions, immersive entertainment, and diverse dining options to meet evolving consumer expectations.
For park operators, these developments highlight the growing demand for comprehensive, experience-driven holidays that go beyond accommodation, providing long-term value and encouraging repeat visits.
