United Airlines is improving its international premium travel, unveiling the design for its new United Elevated business class suites, which will be available on new Boeing 787-9 aircraft.
The new aircraft will offer new United Polaris Studio business class suites, the most significant number of premium-category seats in the airline's fleet, high-speed Internet courtesy of Starlink, large 4K OLED seatback entertainment screens and a caviar amuse-bouche service.
The new suites are located in the first row of each business class section. Eight of them will be available on the latest aircraft, with 25 percent larger all-aisle-access and lie-flat seats with privacy doors, an extra ottoman seat for companions, exclusive food options, an Ossetra caviar service, new amenity kits featuring luxury skincare products in partnership with Perricone MD Cold Plasma Plus+, wireless electronic device charging, Bluetooth connectivity and a 27-inch OLED seatback screen. When it comes time to sleep, travelers can enjoy Saks Fifth Avenue bedding with a duvet, day blanket, large pillow and cooling gel pillow.
Standard United Polaris seats will be upgraded to suites with sliding doors and 19-inch entertainment screens. All Polaris business class travelers have access to six United Polaris lounges, including the newly expanded United Polaris lounge in Chicago.
United Elevated, the new interior design for the Boeing 787-9 aircraft, will feature upscale finishes and a warmer feel, with 99 total premium seats, United Premium Plus seats with privacy dividers and more. The first of these aircraft will be delivered before the end of the year and will fly international passenger flights from San Francisco to London and Singapore. About 30 of the aircraft will join United by 2030.
Dining onboard will provide a new grab-and-go snack bar for United Polaris business class customers, mid-flight meal options including regionally inspired tapas, and, for United Economy travelers, three entree choices, new desserts and an appetizer course.
"We already deliver a superior international experience and fly to the most places across the Atlantic and Pacific - these new innovations provide a more premium experience overall, give customers even more reasons to choose United, and set our airline up to grow into the next decade and beyond," said Andrew Nocella, EVP and Chief Commercial Officer at United.
"We never stand still and are always looking for more ways to set ourselves apart from other carriers. And we're confident this elevated experience will take international flying to new heights."
