The Doxford Group Expands Luxury Glamping Offerings with Lakeside Cabins

The Doxford Group has announced the official opening date for its latest luxury glamping development, The Lake Cabins at The Tempus, located in Northumberland.

Bookings are now open for the lakeside accommodations, which will be available for stays beginning May 30. The project represents the next phase of expansion for the countryside estate, further solidifying its position in the high-end outdoor hospitality market.

The addition of eight lakeside cabins will increase the estate’s capacity to accommodate up to 100 guests, according to a report by Chronicle Live.

Designed for two people, with pet-friendly options available, the cabins are positioned to appeal to travelers seeking a refined, nature-immersive retreat.

The design features a modern aesthetic, incorporating premium furnishings from brands such as Lusso and Restoration Hardware, with interiors developed by the award-winning Jeffreys Interiors.

Each cabin includes a private terrace and a handcrafted copper spa bath, adding to the upscale appeal.

Beyond the accommodations, guests will have access to The Tempus’ existing facilities, including The Orangery restaurant and bar, which offers dining options throughout the day.

The integration of these amenities aligns with a growing trend in the outdoor hospitality industry—blending high-end accommodations with full-service dining and leisure experiences.

Jo Aynsley, design director & co-owner at Jeffreys Interiors, emphasized the continued collaboration with The Doxford Group, stating:

“Following our recent win at the International Property Awards for Best International Hotel Interior for our work with The Tempus, we are thrilled to continue our partnership to bring the Lake Cabins at The Tempus to life.”

The Doxford Group’s expansion strategy has been underway for more than a decade, beginning with the transformation of farm buildings into the wedding venue Doxford Barns.

This was followed by the acquisition of Charlton Hall, which was reimagined as a venue for weddings, corporate retreats, and exclusive events. The Tempus was added in 2023 as a boutique hotel, bar, and restaurant, with additional rooms introduced in subsequent years.

Richard Shell, founder and director of The Doxford Group, highlighted the significance of the latest addition, saying:

“It’s an exciting time for us here at The Doxford Group as we share further details of The Lake Cabins at The Tempus. We’re delighted to give guests a glimpse of this new development which combines luxurious design with the stunning natural beauty of the surrounding landscape.”

For outdoor hospitality operators, the project exemplifies a growing consumer demand for high-end, design-forward accommodations that blend seamlessly with nature.

By integrating high-quality materials, unique amenities, and full-service offerings, The Doxford Group is positioning itself to capture a segment of travelers willing to invest in premium experiences.

The expansion underscores the increasing viability of boutique glamping developments as an avenue for revenue growth in the luxury travel sector.
