Star Field Camping and Glamping in Kent is gearing up for the 2025 season, set to open at the end of May for its eighth year.
The family-run site, located near Cranbrook, continues to expand its offerings, blending traditional camping with glamping accommodations, including five-person safari tents, dressed and undressed bell tents, and spacious grass pitches.
For outdoor hospitality operators, Star Field’s steady growth highlights the increasing demand for hybrid camping experiences that cater to a range of preferences.
The introduction of Pixie’s Paddock, a separate camping area launched in 2024, underscores a trend toward more private and curated spaces within larger sites.
“Each year, the team is committed to enhancing the site, prioritizing essential upgrades and anything that elevates the visitor experience while ensuring the area remains spacious and private,” co-owner David said in an article published by Cene Magazine.
Situated on a working farm, the site benefits from proximity to the Cranbrook Farm Shop & Nursery and The Trough Café, which will celebrate its second anniversary in May.
The café, which recently acquired an alcohol license, offers a social hub for visitors and a potential model for integrating food and beverage services within a camping or glamping business.
A refreshed menu with seasonal treats further enhances the guest experience, reinforcing the importance of evolving offerings to keep visitors engaged.
Star Field’s focus on events is another key takeaway for industry professionals. The site hosted its second wedding in 2024, reflecting a growing trend of outdoor hospitality venues diversifying into event spaces.
A planned open day in mid-May will give prospective couples the chance to explore the site as a wedding venue, demonstrating a strategic approach to expanding revenue streams beyond traditional camping bookings.
With a blend of nature, on-site amenities, and a growing events business, Star Field Camping offers insights into how independent sites can adapt to evolving consumer expectations.
Its combination of farm-to-table experiences, pet-friendly policies, and expanded glamping options reflects broader shifts in the outdoor hospitality market toward personalized, experience-driven stays.
