Several European nations have issued travel advisories to the United States following concerns about how international travelers are being treated.

According to Reuters.com, government officials from the United Kingdom have issued a new warning to travelers planning a trip to the U.S. to follow all of the entry rules or face arrest or detention.

“You should comply with all entry, visa and other conditions of entry,” the statement said. “The authorities in the U.S. set and enforce entry rules strictly. You may be liable to arrest or detention if you break the rules.”

Germany also updated its travel advisory for the U.S. to emphasize that a visa or entry waiver does not guarantee entry for its citizens, per Reuters. A foreign ministry spokesperson said the change comes after several Germans were detained at the border.

Government authorities in France are also weighing options after a French scientist was denied entry. Newsweek reported that the scientist was denied entry due to negative comments made toward President Donald Trump, but U.S. officials said the “claims that such decisions are politically motivated are completely unfounded.”

Several other countries also have updated travel advisories to the U.S. in recent weeks, including Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
