The Mississippi Department of Wildlife, Fisheries, and Parks (MDWFP) has announced the completion of major renovations at Roosevelt State Park’s RV campgrounds in Morton, Mississippi.
According to a press release, Beginning February 21, visitors were able to secure reservations online for the upgraded sites, marking a significant enhancement to the park’s camping experience.
Roosevelt State Park features two campgrounds, R.O. Hannah and CCC, with staggered openings for reservations.
The R.O. Hannah Campground, which includes sites 1-42, will be available for booking starting March 7, while the CCC Campground, with sites 43-109, will open for reservations on April 4.
Each of the 110 newly renovated RV campsites now includes full hookups with water, electricity, and sewer, as well as a picnic table and grill.
In addition to upgraded campsites, the park has introduced several new amenities, including four renovated bathhouses, kayak rentals, a pickleball court, a newly refinished pool slide, and a camp store.
Visitors can also take advantage of various recreational activities such as fishing, boating, disc golf, nature trails, and tennis courts. The park’s entry fee remains $2 per person, with free admission for children aged five and under.
MDWFP has also advised guests of a temporary statewide reservation system upgrade, which may impact booking availability.
Until February 28, reservations for the entire year had been available. From March 1 to March 31, only March reservations will be accepted, with the system set to return to full operation on April 1.
