The Hawai'i Tourism Authority (HTA) announced two new appointments this week as the destination management organization looks ahead to its future following the departure of its Interim President & CEO, Daniel Nāhoʻopiʻi, along with the Board Chair, Mufi Hannemann.

Interim President & CEO Caroline Anderson appointed Jadie Goo as Acting Chief Brand Officer and Isaac Choy as Acting Chief Administrative Officer—moves that will allow the HTA to function in its transitional leadership phase.

Goo brings over twenty years of hospitality and tourism industry brand strategy and marketing know-how to her role. She previously oversaw HTA's marketing initiatives, including those in Asia.

Choy has been a Certified Public Accountant with his practice since 1983 and served five terms in the Hawai'i State House, where he was chairman of the Higher Education committee. He's also recently served as Director of the Hawai'i State Department of Taxation and will bring his expertise to his new role with the HTA.

"Maintaining strong leadership and uninterrupted operations is required. To ensure this, I've appointed Jadie Goo and Isaac Choy to guide our brand and administrative functions," said Caroline Anderson, Interim President & CEO. "Jadie's deep knowledge in Hawai'i's major market areas and brand expertise, combined with Isaac's extensive finance and public administration background, provide the steady leadership HTA requires right now. I am confident they will effectively lead with me to achieve our mission and bring stability as we move forward."

The HTA Board is searching for permanent appointments to replace the President & CEO. Nāhoʻopiʻi left his leadership role to pursue a research-based position.

Hannemann left after coming under fire for using his position to benefit himself and the organizations he served in leadership positions. Todd Apo succeeded him.
