Bennane Shore Holiday Park Plans Upgrades Following Fire Damage

1 month ago 4

Bennane Shore Holiday Park has submitted a planning application to enhance its facilities following a fire in autumn 2023. The proposed modifications include a new entrance and reception area designed to create a more modern and welcoming space for visitors.

The holiday park, located near Lendalfoot, features a spa facility, bistro, and a private residence for the owners. It is open to both members and the general public.

The proposed upgrades, submitted by Gateley Smithers Purslow on behalf of the park, aim to improve accessibility and enhance the guest experience.

In addition to the entrance and reception redesign, plans include the creation of an outdoor dining area connected to the bistro, according to a report by Ayrshire Today.

The space will feature an awning to allow for both open and enclosed seating options with views of Ailsa Craig. A partially enclosed outdoor spa relaxation area is also proposed as part of the updates.

To accommodate these changes, minor structural alterations will be made, such as the infilling of certain external windows and the relocation of a fire escape door.

Additional safety features, including two new escape ramps for the outdoor dining and spa relaxation areas, are also part of the proposal.

While some adjustments will be made to ramp access at the main entrance, no major landscaping changes are planned.

The project reflects a continued investment in the park’s facilities, ensuring that it remains competitive in the outdoor hospitality market.

Enhancements to reception areas and guest amenities can play a key role in attracting and retaining visitors, particularly in the holiday park sector, where customer experience is a major factor in business success.

The full planning application is available for review on South Ayrshire Council’s planning portal under reference 25/00109/APP.
